Why does anakin have a scar

Anakin Skywalker is one of the biggest names in the Skywalker Saga — in fact, there really is no story without him. But, the fact that the movie star quit Hollywood a few years ago is not quite a matter of interest to the public. What happened to Anakin? The path of Anakin is a common story across various films, shows, and different other mediums.

He started from a desert slave to padawan, to Jedi Knight, to Dark Lord of the Sith, returning to the light as a savior to his son and the galaxy. Doku quickly knocks out Anakin while Obi-Wan tries to hold his own. After some time, Anakin joins the battle again, and Doku cuts off his hand with a swing of his lightsaber. It was poetic that Anakin took his revenge by cutting both of his hands and his neck later on. Anyways Doku escapes to Coruscant, where he gives his master the plans of the Death Star.

He loved her so much that he did not want to lose her. He had already lost his mother and he was seeking a way to avoid the death of his loved ones. He talked to master Yoda but he did not give him any satisfying answer.

Palpatine started taking more and more interest in Anakin, because he wanted Anakin to be his next disciple. He told Anakin that he could keep his loved ones from dying if he turned to the dark side of the force. Initially, Anakin was really hesitant under the influence of his Jedi morals and training. He finally gave in to his desire to have more power. Palpatine carried out his plan to kill every Jedi and he ordered Anakin to kill all the younglings, and he obeyed.

When the surviving Jedi, Obi-Wan and Yoda, found out about that they were shocked and disappointed. Obi-Wan told Padme everything and asked if she knew where Anakin was? After learning about that she travels to Mustafar and Obi-Wan hides in the ship.

Anakin welcomed her and she asked him about his treachery. Upon learning the truth, she starts to back away from him stating she does not love him anymore. When Obi-Wan emerges from the ship Anakin gets furious, he thinks they both made a plan to kill him. In agony, he strangles Padme and knocks her unconscious.

Then Obi-Wan and Anakin get into a lengthy lightsaber duel on the volcanic planet. Upon reaching at the higher ground Obi-Wan begs Anakin to stop and tells that he is lost. According to Pablo Hidalgo, a creative executive at Lucasfilm, he overheard a conversation between Lucas and John Knoll, the visual effects supervisor at the time. There you have it: George Lucas gave Anakin the scar because of its aesthetic. If it were up to Lucas, Anakin gave it to himself on accident.

In canon, we see Anakin with the scar starting in the movie, The Clone Wars. The first 2D animated series from Genndy Tartakovsky in the early 's revealed Anakin's scar midway through its series, just after Anakin became a Jedi Knight. No details were given. Regardless, the series is now considered non-canonical and not part of the official Star Wars continuity. Even so, the Clone Wars series that is part of the canon that released in is no help either, as the Clone Wars film that launched the series features Anakin having already been given his scar with no explanation.

When Star Wars creator George Lucas himself was asked about the scar, Lucas replied that he had never really thought about the specific instance of how Anakin got it, as it was merely meant to be symbolic of Anakin's growth in a Jedi Knight.

He even once joked that Anakin got his scar by slipping in the tub. All things considered, the closest reason for the scar can be found Dark Horse Comics' Star Wars: Republic 71 , when Anakin crosses lightsaber blades with Asajj Ventress.

Vos had infiltrated Separatist leader Count Dooku's inner circle, posing as a dark Jedi in order to gain information for the Jedi Order.
