If the technician is using a drill to prep your nails they are not doing it correctly. This away angers me as a practicing nail stylist your feel nail application should be a relaxing and gentle experience promoting growth and protection of the real nail.
The whole purpose of getting gel polish is so the polish will last on natural nails. If you go somewhere and they are using the drill…. That defeats the whole purpose. You dont want to damage your nails for the sake of polish lasting 14 days. The gelish lasts long especially since I wash dishes by hand.
To remove it a special liquid is used and while I am getting my pedicure, the liquid is applied to cotton balls which are wrapped to my fingertips then pieces of foil paper are used to keep the cotton in place and I guess warm the liquid on the cotton.
So by the time my pedicure is finished my manicure can begin. My nails were weak after getting the shellac. Minx looks fun and I will start looking to find a nail salon in Dallas that specializes in the process. I am loving my All of My Purple Life lipgloss. I combined it with Violetta and the compliments keep coming! No damage, no mechanical sanding. I did that myself, but I could have paid the salon to do it before the next application. MInx, for me, was just okay. Gelish has coloers and even some glitters!
I wore a bubblegum pink glitter while I was on vacay and I loved it. I want to try the denim blue next. And a nail tech friend already warned me about lazy techs and their drills. No thanks! I regard something really interesting about your weblog so I saved to bookmarks. But she is pricey, 80 bucks for a pedi.
One coat and you get a very similar effect as the Minx system. I have gold on my toes and I love it. It has been 2 weeks and they look like I just got them done. And they are still hanging on, but grown out some. I would def say minx are worth ever dollar. I believe everyone should try them at least once!
What I like to do for first timers is put one minx on the big toe and nail polish on the rest. They usually come back for the rest to be minxed within a week! Thanks for posting this review. I was really curious about how the Minx nails work and how you take them off. Sounds like they are a one-time, special occasion kinda thing. Keep up the great work!!!
You will not be able to get MINX anywhere but from there website, you have o be a licensed manicuist and they verify that on every order. I wonder if anybody tried to do on your own and how it worked.
My nails are smaller and thinner than regular and I dont know if the minx nails would fit. I do my own nails coats of nail polish every week and would love to cut the drying time! I always use OPI, swear by it, on my natural nails and it works for me.
I always use a base and top coat. Maybe that is why I have good results.. We have been doing Minx at our spa, Spatique for months now…They are amazing, and last much longer than a regular manicure or pedicure.. Honey, did my nails also and although I love them, what she failed to tell me was that they DO NOT work well with acrylic nails…. There is a place in New Orleans in the mid city area that does Minx. I believe there was a link to the salon on the official Minx website. I checked out that salon and they were pretty rude.
I spoke to the Minx specialist there and she was very nice and answered all of my questions. Does anyone know if there is a salon in my area. Opi axium is a colored gel that comes in colors form bubble bath, to russian navy. It lasts for two weeks, and the cost is thirty five dollars. It works for pedicures also. Something to consider. Hi ladies im a nail technician in the uk and havent come across minx yet can anyone fill me in on how to do them, is it just foil over an acrylic nail and then under a uv lamp???
